Carl Friedrich used both Charles and Fred as his names. He was a farmer in Maple Grove Township, near Reedsville, in Manitowoc County. He emigrated from Pomerania, Germany in 1857, along with his parents and his wife and first child, Augusta. Once in Reedsville, Wilhelmina, William, August Friedrich who went by Frederick, Emelia, Johann Carl who went by Charles, Edward, Julius and Albert were born.

CHARLES BEYERSDORF

Fred Beyersdorf, (Sic) an old resident of Hollandtown, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Carl Maertz, last Monday, having attained the ripe old age of 85 years. The funeral will held yesterday from the Kasson Lutheran church, burial being in the Bluff cemetery.
Decedent is survived by five sons, William of Menominee and Charles, Edward and Albert and Julius of Bonduel, and two daughters, Ms. Gusta Buboltz of Shawano and Mrs.. Carl Maertz of Hollandtown. He was a veteran of the Civil War.
