MACOMB -- Derald B. Gills, 86, of Elms Nursing Home died at 10:55 a.m. Thursday, March 17, 1994, at the home.
Born Sept. 17, 1907, in Galesburg to Leonard F. and Cora L. Barker Gills, he married Ena J. Melvin on June 23, 1946, in Nashua, Iowa. She survives.
Also surviving are two nephews and one niece. One brother and one sister preceded him in death.
He was a barber in Macomb, Davenport, Iowa, and Elmhurst. He retired and moved back to Macomb in 1988. He was a World War II Army veteran and a member of the American Legion.
He was a member of Sciota Christian Church in Sciota and the Musical Organ Club in Elmhurst.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Sargent-Worthington Funeral Home. The Rev. A. Lee Unger will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Good Hope Cemetery in Good Hope. Memorials may be made to his church.
