Blanche Izene was born to Elias and Mary Boss Aug. 22, 1889, in Unionville, Mo., and passed away at Kit Carson County Memorial Hospital May 30, 1975 at the age of 85.

In the early 1900's Blanche came with her parents to Gove County, Kan. She was united in marriage to Leonard Henry Bretton Oct. 30, 1917. To this union twin boys were born, Lenonard Clyde and Charles Lyman.

In November, 1922, she and her husband moved to Vona where they lived on a farm until 1960 when they moved into Vona.

Mrs. Bretton was preceded in death by her husband and baby daughter. She is survived by a sister, Bertha Barber of Pasadena, Calif., her two sons and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Monday, June 2, at the Vona Baptist Church with Rev. Alan Williams, officiating.

Song selections, "Abide With Me' and "Beyond the Sunset", were sung by Bob Hendricks accompanied at the organ by Peggy Becker.

Cast bearers were O.J. Burd, Leo Burley, Glenn Edmunds, Merle Ford, Ken Pickard and Tom Burian.

Interment was made in the Vona cemetery.
