Thomas was a Revolutionary War soldier. he served in Captain Daniel Carlin's militia unit during the Revolutionary War in Henry County, Virginia. Based on his service, his 3rd great grandson, Michael G. Hardwick and his 4th great grandson, Michael R. Hardwick have been accepted as certified members of the SAR, Sons of the American Revolution.
