Sergeant Tousignant was a member of Headquarters Battery, 77th Field Artillery Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division. He was injured in a vehicle accident and was evacuated to the 8055th Mobile Army Surgical Hospital where he died on January 1, 1951. Sergeant Tousignant was awarded the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal. His interment date was September 11, 1951.
His younger brother, Allen Keith Tousignant, a U.S. Marine, was killed in action during World War II, and is memorialized in Section N, Site 266 at the Honolulu Memorial.
