Mr. Carter was born August 9, 1921 in Comanche, Texas to Henry Jackson Carter & Nannie (Dikes) Carter. He moved to Angleton in 1966, and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Angleton. Troy retired from TDCJ Ramsey Unit in 1986 after 20 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, John Carter & 4 brothers.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Bobbie Carter of Angleton; sons, Troy Carter, Jr. & wife Rita of Brazoria & Tommy Carter & wife Janice of Angleton; daughters, Janice Taylor & husband Jim of Richmond & Bette Harp & husband Dewey of East Bernard; daughter-in-law, Wanda Carter of Angleton; 11-grandchildren & 21 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services are set for 10 a.m. Thursday, March 24, 2011 in the Angleton Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday March 23, 2011 from 6-8 p.m. at Palms Funeral Home.
