Mina A. Eppinger, 84, formerly of East Maitland Lane, died at the Shrewsbury Lutheran Nursing Home, Shrewsbury, Pa., at 3:40 a.m. Oct. 5, 1993. Born in West Liberty, Butler County on March 19, 1909, she was a daughter of John G. and Martha Moore Thompson. Her husband, John Ray Eppinger, died Feb. 9, 1980. Mrs. Eppinger had served as substitute teacher in Lawrence County schools. She was a graduate of Slippery Rock Normal College and belonged to the Retired Teachers Association. A member of Northminster Presbyterian Church, she belonged to its Over 55 group and Rebecca Circle. She also belonged to Wimodausis. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Margaret "Marti") Aitken of Seattle; a son, John R. of Stewartstown, Pa.; two sisters, Mrs. George (Nel) Sager of Butler and Mrs. C. B. (Mary) Hogue of Slippery Rock; and four grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Nora Thompson, Etta Peffer, Sara Mayer and Florence Lindey. Arrangements are by the R. Cunningham Funeral Home Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, where visitation will be observed 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday. A service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday at Cunningham's by the Rev. Andrew Jillson, pastor of Northminster Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Plain Grove South Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Northminster Presbyterian Church.
