MERCER - John Campbell Eperthener, 79, of RD 5, Coolspring Township, died at 2 p.m. Sept. 5, 1980 at his residence as a result of a farming accident. He was born Aug. 28, 1901 in New Castle to H.A. and Olive Campbell Eperthener, who preceded him in death. He was married April 30, 1925 to the former Wilda Eppinger, who survives. A self-employed farmer, he was a member of Jackson Grange and Trinity United Presbyterian Church of Mercer. In addition to his wife he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Glenn (Imogene) Kloss of RD 4 and Mrs. Richard (Jane) Struthers of RD 5; two sons, C. Dale of Diamond Bar, Calif., and J. Richard of RD 5; 12 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Two brothers, George and Harold, preceded him in death. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Cunningham Funeral Home, Inc., 144 S. Pitt St. A service at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home will be conducted by the Rev. Robert D. Rose, former pastor of Trinity U.P. Church. Interment will follow at Plain Grove Cemetery.
