Harry (Fuzzy) W. Allen, 75, of Distant, died Friday, November 29, 1991 at Allegheny Valley Hospital in Natrona Heights following a lengthy illness.

Born May 19, 1916 in Distant, Armstrong County, he ws a son of the late Harry and Kitty (Wells) Allen.

He married Helen Hilliard on September 8, 1934. She survives.

Mr. Allen was a former truck driver and coal miner. He was a member of the Oakland Church of God at Distant. Mr. Allen was a veteran of World War II, serving overseas as a sergeant. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was an avid sportsman.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Dale (Shirley) Miller of Butler and Mrs. Howard (Gale) Bish of Beaver; one brother, Joseph Allen of Distant; two sisters, Juliet McDowell of St. Albans, West Virginia and Esther Beatty of New Bethlehem RD 1; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were four brothers and an infant sister.

Funeral services were held at 2 pm Monday at the Oakland Church of God. The Rev. Howard Bish, Mr. Allen's son-in-law, and the Rev. Clarence Dillon, pastor of Oakland Church of God, co-officiated. The Rev. James Swogger, assistant pastor, was vocalist.

Interment followed in the Oakland Cemetery in Distant.

Arrangements were by the McNaughton-Rupert Funeral Home in New Bethlehem.
