Samuel P. Draper, 73, retired farmer, died at 4;45 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at his residence, 319 Clinton street. A stroke of apoplexy suffered on Nov. 7 caused his death. He had been in failing health for three years.
Mr. Draper was the son of Nelson and Mary Draper and was born in Allen township on Sept. 21, 1861. He was a lifelong resident of the county
On Sept. 9, 1886 he was married to Martha E. Taylor who died on March 26, 1922. Two children survive. They are Hazel L. Draper, Lima avenue, and Mrs. Berna Fisher, at home. One granddaughter, Barbara Fisher and a sister, Mrs. Amanda Galloway, of Allen township, also survive him.
Funeral services were held from the First Church of God with Rev. LeRoy Cabbage officiating. Burial, in charge of the Barnhart funeral home, was in Maple Grove Cemetery.
