Obituary:
LAVERNE A. WALLACE, 70, of Fort Wayne died Monday at Hospice Home of Northeast Indiana. She retired in 1992 from Mechanics Laundry after 40 years of service.

Surviving are a son, William D. Wallace of Plymouth; sisters, Edna Highfield, Magdaline Lard, Lois Wallace and Stella Jarnigan, all of Alabama, and Peggy Leatherman of Defiance, Ohio; brothers, James Ables of Cherokee, Ala., Bobby Ables of Muscle Sholls, Ala., Jurle Ables of New York, and Leon Ables of New Jersey; and six grandchildren.

Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave. Calling is from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Covington Memorial Gardens. Memorials are to Cancer Services of Allen County or Visiting Nurse Service & Hospice.
