Reporter, Jan. 10, 1972. Charles Hess Sr., 68, a resident of Taycheedah, died at 7 a.m. today at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born Feb. 12, 1903, at St. Cloud, a son of Anton and Theresa Schaefer Hess. He married Agnes Michels on Mar. 3, 1924, at St. Cloud and she preceded him in death on Dec. 26, 1971. Mr. Hess was a member of St. Mary's Church. He was employed at Quicfrez as a painter for over 20 years, and then was employed as a machine operator by A.F. Klinzing Co. Inc. until Dec. 1971. Surviving are two sons, Charles Jr. and Joseph, both of Fond du Lac; five daughters, Mrs. Armin Wojahn of Fond du Lac, Mrs. Donald Krueger of Rt. 6, Mrs. Servatius Schneider of Oakfield, Mrs. Larry Maas of Rt. 4, and Mrs. James Doyle of Rt. 1, 23 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wed. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church. The Rev. John H. Goebel will officiate and burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
