Hutsonville Herald, 1892:
Last Monday, Feb. 15, a goodly number of friends and nieghbors gathered in to surprise Aunt Polly Ogden, that being her 82nd birthday, when to their suprise they learned that she was anxiously awaiting their arrival. However, that did not prove disasterous to the pleasure of the guests, for soon many busy hands and jolly expressions made all things go "Merry as the marriage bell" and a long table was loaded with good things which make such an occasion very enjoyable. Several presents, including a nice rocking chair, were presented her. Aunt Polly was born in 1810 in N.C. , Randolph Co., and in 1819 moved with her parents, Jesse and Metta Reyonlds to this county and settled on the farm where William Lindley now lives. She is well and lively and we hope she may be spared to see many more happy birthdays.

Information from Roger Smith: I believe that Benjamin Ogden and Polly Reynolds Ogden lived near Melrose, IL in the southern part of Clark Co., IL then moved to West York, IL area which is on the southern border of of Clark Co., IL and the northern border of Crawford Co., IL where Polly's parents lived. Maybe Benjamin Ogden became ill enough that it was a necessity for them to move. Polly Ogden later lived north of the Quaker Church in the northern part of Crawford Co., IL and is reported to be buried in the Guyer Cemetery near there, but I have not found her listed in the cemetery listing. I don't know where Benjamin Ogden and his first wife Courtney Harrison Ogden are buried.

A person in the Clark Co., IL Genealogy Library said Polly (Reynolds) Ogden is buried in the Guyer Cemetery, but her name is not listed in the cemetery book.

Information from Deborah: Mary "Polly" (Reynolds)Ogden was born 15 February 1810 in Guilford County, North Carolina. She came to Illinois with her parents in 1818.

She married Benjamin Ogden on 1 July 1830 in Crawford County, Illinois.

She lived until at least 1892 when her 82nd birthday was celebrated (newspaper article).

Thank you,
Deborah
