Bion B. Franklin, 47, of West Street, Goshen, died Friday (December 17, 1999) at Litchfield Woods Health Care in Torrington. He was the husband of Dr. Laurie Franklin. Mr. Franklin was born March 24, 1952 in Torrington, son of Madeleine (L'Engle) (Camp) Franklin and the late Hugh H. Franklin. He graduated from Hobart & William Smith College with a BA degree in English, and received his Masters in literature from Syracuse University. For several years, he taught English at the Marvelwood School, the University of Connecticut, Torrington Branch and the University of Hartford. For the past 13 years, he worked for the Crosswicks Corporation. He enjoyed traveling and was an avid hockey fan. In addition to his wife and mother of Goshen, he is survived by two sisters, Josephine Franklin Jones of New Hartford and Maria Franklin Rooney of Old Lyme; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2 p.m. at the Church of Christ Congregational in Goshen. Burial will be private.
