Arthur Collner Shaner, the youngest of the Shaner sons, was given his middle name because of the friendship and relationship with the Collners through the Frys. William Collner had a general store in Salem (Lamartine P.O.) for years. Arthur, like his brothers, spent most of his life in some phase of the oil business. In his early days, Arthur acquired some experience in West Virginia before moving to New York state. Arthur's daughter Irene was born in West Virginia. Arthur lived the longest of any in his family.
