Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Allen are newly-weds who are being showered with attentions by their friends. They are now living at 708 Parallel street. The were married in St. Joe last week. Mrs. Allen was formerly Miss Agnes Yocam and her father, J. W. (E.) Yocam lives three miles east of Bean lake. She is a very pretty and attractive young wife and has lots of friends. Mr. Allen is a fine young fellow and has a great many warm friends here. He is order clerk at the Blish, Mize & Silliman Hardware company and is regarded as a very capable and promising young man.
Agnes Allen, 92, Bentonville, Ark., formerly of the Bean Lake area, died Monday, May 29, 1989, at Bentonville Manor.
Graveside services will e at 10 a.m. Thursday at Sugar Creek cemetery near Rushville.
Mrs. Allen was born Oct. 29, 1896, in the Bean Lake area, the daughter of John Edward and Nannie Belle Foley Yocam.
She was a homemaker and member of the First Christian Church of Atchison and the What-So-Ever class of the church. She was an antique collector and worked with her husband on a dairy farm. They lived the majority of their married life at Guthrie Circle in Atchison. She moved to Bentonville 15 years ago.
Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence E. Allen in 1962.
Survivors include two sons, Clarence E. Allen Jr. and Bill E. Allen. Three sisters, Etta Jarrell, Leona Luther and Hazel Budde, six grandchildren and five great-granchildren.
