Dollie E. Smith, 87, East Freedom, died Sat., March 19, 2011 at Nason Hospital Emergency Dept. She was born in East Freedom to Cleveland & Bertha (Shoop) Nofsker. She married Bernard R. Smith on June 18, 1944, in East Freedom and he died May 14, 2001. Survived by son, Larry D. Smith, of East Freedom; daughter, Carol J. Trautman & husband, Roger W., of Brooksville, FL; daughter-in-law, Linda K. Smith, of East Freedom; 2 granddaughters and 3 gr. grandchildren: Kimberly A. Johnson & husband, Richard E., and their children, Richie E. and Brittany M., all of Minneola, FL, and Amanda N. Kane & husband, Erik, and their son, Trevor Leon, all of East Freedom. Predeceased by son, Leon R. Smith, July 31, 2005; 5 sisters and 5 brothers: Ellie Helsel, Alice M. Holsinger, Huston J. Nofsker, Charles A. Nofsker, Herman G. Nofsker, Arthur S. Nofsker, Elsie A. Freidenbloom, Samuel B. Nofsker, May L. Nofsker and Margaret Ann Noffsker. Dollie was a member of the Altoona Bible Church, but due to health issues and being unable to travel, she had faithfully watched the Faith Baptist Church on television for the past several years. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, John Proctor Chapter, and had previously been the East Freedom correspondent for the Morrisons Cove Herald.
