Mr. Kurtz moved from Rt. 2, Warsaw to Hill Lake, north of Silver Lake, eight years ago. He was a member of the Methodist Church in Palestine.
Born in Claypool, August 8, 1908, he was the son of John Phillip Kurtz and Alice Elizabeth (Regenos). On Dec. 29, 1932 in Goshen, he married Hazel Bernice Harley, who survives.
Surviving with the widow are one daughter, Mrs. William (Orpha Jean) Biltz of Dublin, Calif.; 3 grandchildren: Melody, William III, and Michele; a brother, Charles Kurtz, of Winona Lake; a sister, Mrs. Blanche Cox, Mishawaka.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. at the McHatton Funeral home, with Rev. Leonard Custer of North Manchester officiating. Interment will be in Oakwood cemetery.
