Mr. Sayre served a term as a member of the Missouri house of representatives and was author of the 15-day non-resident fishing license law, which has proven popular with tourists. He was a former Ozark Playgrounds Association committeeman from McDonald county.
He was born February 6, 1868 in Wabash, Ind. He lived for several years in Kansas City before moving here in 1920, and purchased the farm which now is a summer resort. The resort contains a tavern, cabins, a lake and other facilities attractive to vacationists.
He suffered a paralytic stroke last summer and suffered another this morning. A third stroke tonight was fatal.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Caroline Sayre, at home, and a daughter in Pennsylvania.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete, but services probably will be conducted Sunday with burial at Southwest City.
