He was born May 27, 1934 in Ottumwa, Iowa, the son of WILLIAM J and ELIZABETH ANN (TILLMONT) GREELEY.
A 1952 graduate of Catholic Center High School in Ottumwa, Iowa, he attended St. Ambrose College and received bachelor's and master's degrees in literature from San Francisco State University. He served in the Army from 1954 to 1956 and was a professor of literature at Northeast Missouri State University.
The service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the Reece Funeral Home, the Rev. Robert Striegel of St. Mary of the Visitation officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Ottumwa, Iowa.
Visitation will be open after 10 a.m. today, Wednesday.
