Violet Marie Brown was the second child of three of Clarence Melvin "Doc" Brown II & Grace Lenora McGill.

After the death of her mother in child birth of her younger sister and her father re-married the three children were raised by their paternal grandparents.

Violet was the first wife of Capt Clifton Thomas Boggess. They had four children Joyce Lenora Boggess, Clifton Clayton Boggess, Ronnie Gene Boggess & Norma Clarice Boggess.

She was widowed by her second husband Lee Roy Hazelwood, a corrections officer/warden of Big Pine Key Prison.
