Services for Charles F. Banks, 64, of Liverpool, who died Saturday at Veterans Administration Hospital, after a long illness, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Believers Chapel, Northern Boulevard and Thompson Road. Burial will be at 3 p.m. in AL Saints Chapel Cemetery, Morris Manor.
There will be no calling hours.
A native of Exeter. Mr. Banks had lived in the North Syracuse-Liverpool area for the past 21 years. He was a graduate of Morrisville College. He retired from the US Air Force after 20 year. He served in World War II in the European theater. More recently, he had been employed supervising the servicing of transit aircraft at Hancock Field.
He was a member of the New York State Umpires Association and had officiated for more than 20 years in semiprofeional baseball leagues. He was a coordinator of the Syracuse Chiefs Baseball ChapeL He was a member of the Believer's Chapel in Clay. He was a member of the Christian Businessmen's Committee of Syracuse and served as its metro director.
Surviving are his wife, the former C. Virginia Morris; one sister, Marion Clunan of Blue Point; two nieces, one nephew, three great-nieces, and two great-nephews.
Fergerson Funeral Home, North Syracuse, has charge of arrangements.
Contributions may be made to the Believer's Chapel or the Christian Businessmen's Committee of Syracuse.
