Lois grew up in Fort Atkinson. Lois was a trailblazer for women in that era. Upon her high school graduation in 1949, she led a successful business career in Chicago and later in Miami Beach. She returned to Madison, Wisconsin in 1954 to help her family open and operate Lane's Bakery.
After her marriage to Joseph W. Dorn, Lois poured all her compassion, energy, and love into the raising of her two daughters making every day a special day.
Lois is survived by her two daughters, Linda Dorn of Naples, Florida and Debra (William) von Rutenberg of Waunakee, two grandchildren Kimberly and Ryan von Rutenberg, a brother Jerry (Nancy) Lane, sister Betty Lou (Ronald) Petrie, and many loving family members and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Flay (Stapleton) Lane.
