Bradley, James Bray (b. 1858) — also known as James B. Bradley — of Eaton Rapids, Eaton County, Mich. Born in Middlebury Township, Shiawassee County, Mich., November 19, 1858. Son of Albert B. Bradley and Jerusha (Tubbs) Bradley; married, October 12, 1915, to Pearl Parshall. Republican. Physician; Michigan state auditor general, 1905-08; candidate in primary for Governor of Michigan, 1908; Presidential Elector for Michigan, 1928. Methodist. Member, Freemasons; Shriners; Knights of Pythias; Maccabees.

James Bray Bradly, a native of Laingsburg, Shiawassee County,was born November 19, 1858. He came to this city in 1880 as a registered pharmacist, and was employed in the Hamilton Brothers Drug Store.
He was intent on a medical career and graduated from the Rush Medical College of Chicago in 1886, returning here and starting practice. He enjoyed a lucrative practice and, being desirous of further study, took post-graduate course in NY City. He was physician and surgeon of the Grand Rapids division of Michigan Central Railroad for many years. He served the city twice as its mayor.
He was an ardent Republican politically an in 1904 was elected Auditor General of the State and served two terms. He aspired to the highest office in the State and was defeated by a small margin in the primaries in 1908 by Governor Fred M. Warner.
The next of kin are Mrs. Bray Bradley-Webster of Eaton Rapids and Chester P. Bradley of NY City. James Bray and Jenny Frost Bradley had no children.
