Mr. Robert F. Babb, 81, of Madisonville, KY passed away at 6:36 P.M., Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at Ridgewood Terrace Nursing Home in Madisonville.
He was born January 24, 1928 in Madisonville to the late Orbie Babb and Effie Elizabeth Todd Babb. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Helen Francis Wicks Babb; one sister, Helen Ipock and three brothers, Bill, Lee and J.C. Babb.
Mr. Babb was a member of the Madison Avenue Holiness Church and worked for Ruby Concrete for 45 years.
He is survived by one step son, Paul (Betty) Poole of Madisonville; three grandchildren, Paula Fuller, Amy McVay and David Poole all of Madisonville and five great grandchildren, Kristi Fulkerson, Chet Fuller, Amber McVay, Garrett Poole and Graham Poole all of Madisonville.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, June 27, 2009 at the Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Rev. George Furgerson officiating with burial to follow in Bethlehem Cemetery in Madisonville.
Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Friday and after 11:00 A.M. on Saturday at the funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Butch Babb, David Poole, Roger Fuller, Chet Fuller, James Babb and Johnny Babb.
Memorial contributions may take the form of donation to the Gideon's International. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
