"Albert A Schaefer, 73, of Road ..., Hope, died at 4:45 pm Tuesday, at his home. He had been in ill health for six months."
Schaefer was builder and developer of Schaefer lake at Hope in 1959. He was a farmer and had worked for the US Dept. of Agriculture. He was a director of the Federal Land Bank for many years and had served as a county commissioner from 1950 to 1952 and as president of Indiana State County Commissioners. He served as a lobbyist in the State Legislature and helped get the state cumulative bridge fund law passed."
"A 1931 graduate of Hope High School, Schaefer was a member of Hope Lions Club, Indiana Farmers Union and Farm Bureau. He was a member of Hope Moravian Church where he had served on the board of trustees and board of elders and had been Sunday School Superintendent for 18 years."
"Funeral service will be conducted by the Rev. Douglas Rights at 10:30 am Saturday at Hope Moravian Church. Calling hours ... Burial will be at Hope Moravian Church."
"Memorials may be made to the Perpetual Care Fund of Hope Moravian Cemetery."
"Born Feb. 9, 1914, in Hope, Schaefer was the son of George and Clara Shore Shaefer . He married Helen Lambert on Dec. 31, 1935, and she survives."
