Mrs. Celestine Michels, 63, 2007 W. Oakleaf Drive, Sunnyside Estate, McHenry, died Monday, Sept. 13, in Victory Memorial Hospital, Waukegan.

She was born Feb. 20, 1908 in Barnsville, Minn., the daughter of Joseph and Mary Mallinger Furst.

She married Frank Michels on Sept. 30, 1931, in Crystal Lake, Ill.

Celestine is survived by her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Doris (Roy) Gowans, McHerny, and twin daughters; Mrs. Jane (William) Gies, Berlin, Wis. and Mrs. Joan (Warren) Haeger, Woodstock. 15 grandchildren; and three sisters, Mrs. Verdeen (Cliff) Raven, Crystal Lake, Mrs. Mary (Charles) Mingus, Berlin Heights, Ohio, and Mrs. Delores (Howard) Whiting of McHenry.

She was preceded in death by her parents and five brothers, Roman, Fred, George, Sylvestor and Leslie and a sister Doris.

Friends may call at the Peter M Justen and Son funeral Home after 3 p.m. today.

Funeral Mass will be offered at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Johnsburg, with burial in the church cemetery.
