Mr. Kirby was bon in Florence County , a son of the late Fred J. and Elizabeth Lynch Kirby. He was a member of the Beulah Lodge No. 259 and a member of Bethany Free Will Baptist Church.
Ssurviving are his wife Hallie Richbourg Kirby; two daughters Mrs. R.P. Moore and Mrs. C.M. Weathersbee both of Sumter, two sons Alton E. Kirby of Timmonsville and the Rev. Fred J. Kirby of Sumter. Four step-daughters F.M. Brunson of Savannah, Ga. Mrs. J.O. Barfield of John's Island, Mrs. Ben Wingate and Mrs. Elgie Avery both of Sumter; four step-sons Patrick I. Richbourg, Howard A. Richbourg and Preston A. Richbourg all of Sumter, Mack A. Richbourg of Savannah, Ga.; 27 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
