Seymour Adams Dies At Toquin Farm Home
Following an illness of a year from a heart ailment, Seymour Adams, 71, died Saturday at his farm home near Toquin, northwest of Hartford. Funeral rites for him were held at the home Monday, the Rev. Scott MacDonald, Methodist pastor of Bangor, officiating, and burial was in the Thomas cemetery.
For 38 years Mr. Adams had resided in the Toquin district. Born in Barry county on March 28, 1867, he went as a child to Nebraska with his parents in a covered wagon, returning to Michigan as a young man.
His wife, the former Jennie Stewart of Bangor, died several years ago. He is survived by two sons, Carl of Kalamazoo and Lawrence of Toquin; three daughters, Mrs. Eleanor Abbott of South Haven, Mrs. Alma Weberg of Kalamazoo, and Mrs. Bernice Lovell of Benton Harbor; and two sisters, Mrs. Lucy Corwin of Covert and Mrs. D. D. Merrill of St. Joseph. He also leaves 13 grandchildren. Mr. Adams was a member of the Gleaners.
