WINSTON-SALEM - Mrs. Margaret M. Weavil, 82, of Friendship-Ledford Road, passed away Monday afternoon, March 14, 2011 at Hinkle Hospice Home. Mrs. Weavil was born August 23, 1928 in Stokes County a daughter of the late Willie Nicholson Moore and Effie Hauser Moore. She loved to sew, weave baskets, enjoyed cooking for club meetings at church, crochet, and barber for her family. She had a green thumb, especially for her flower garden. She was preceded in death by one son, Johnny Weavil in 2008. Surviving is her husband of 65 years, John W. Weavil of the home; two daughters, Shirley Weavil of Winston Salem and Patty Koontz and husband Brian of Winston Salem; four sons, James Weavil and wife Wanda of Winston Salem, Dennis Weavil and wife Frankie of Kernersville, Darrell Weavil and wife Judy of Winston Salem and Sandy Weavil of High Point, her brother, Daniel Moore and wife Mary of High Point. Eleven grandchildren, Brian and Emily Weavil, Shane and Jennifer Weavil, Chris and Karen Weavil, Lorie Weavil, Jeff and Allison Weavil, Julie and Mikey Walters, Matthew Weavil, Elizabeth Weavil, Andrew Koontz, Patrick Koontz, Nicholas Koontz, and five great -grandchildren. Graveside Funeral Services will be on Friday at 4 p.m. at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Chris Byrne officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home (Wallburg Chapel). The family requests that memorials be made to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
