William M. "Goat" Hagins, 85, died Tuesday at Bulloch Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
The Bulloch County native was retired from Georgia Power Company. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, the Georgia Power Ambassadors Club and the Georgia Guard. He was a Primitive Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Libby Braswell Hagins, Statesboro; two sons, Bill Hagins , Appling, and Wendy Hagins, Statesboro; one sister, Sue Harrington, Layfayette; one brother, Harold G. Hagins, Yulee, Fla.; three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at Hodges-Turner Funeral Home, with Dr. Hugh Davis and Father Michael Smith officiating. Burial will be in Bulloch Memorial Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be George Hagins, Jerry Hagins, Reed Harrington, Roy Thompson, Hank Hagins and David Hagins.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
