Alice V. “Tommy” Coan, 78, of Olney, died at 6:20 a.m. Friday, April 21, 2000, at Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. today at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney with Pastor Ted Kemp officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Olney.

Mrs. Coan was born August 16, 1921, in Lawrence County, the daughter of John Henry and Dorothy (Blake) York.

She married John Coan on Sept. 21, 1957. He survives.

Mrs. Coan was a homemaker and had worked in the kitchen at Olney Care Center.

Coan is survived by her husband, John Coan of Olney; one son, Greg Coan and his friend Gina of Olney; three daughters, Donna Luke and her husband John, Becky Davis, JoAnn Coan and her friend Greg, all of Olney; one brother, Richard York and his wife Linda of Angora, Ind.; two sisters, Kate Creek and Alene Stoltz, both of Bridgeport; four grandchildren, Angela, Tabatha Lynn, David and Destini Rayn; and one great-grandchild, Noah.

She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, six sisters and one grandson, Micheal Scott Cantrell.
