Hillie A. Hughes Sr., 82, of Columbia died Friday, Oct. 30, 1992,
in
Maury Regional Hospital.

He was retired electrician for Occidental Chemical
Company and a member of the Church of Christ. He was a Navy veteran of World War
II. He was First married to the late Trula Brown Hughes, who died March 4,
1980.

Funeral will be 2:30 p.m. today in Oaks and Nichols Funeral Home with
Elmer Lusk and Wendell Robinson officiating. Burial will be at Polk Memorial
Gardens.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby Love Hughes of Columbia, one
daughter, Mrs Aubrey (Nellie) London of Hohenwald; one son, James Hughes of
Columbia; one brother, Woodrow Hughes of Fairview; six grandchildren and ten
great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by a son, Hillie A. Hughes, Jr.,
who died in 1967.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Love, Ralph Judd, Jim Smithson,
James Bell, Michael Hughes, and Jimmy Hughes. Honorary pallbearers will be the
retired employees of the maintenance department at Occidental Chemical Company
and Alton Bradley, Joe Doggett, R.N. Turner, Steven Simmons, James Richardson,
John Maloof and James Wiseman Jr.
