Death, which came after an illness of three weeks, had been expected almost any time within a few days after her illness began, but occasional rallies caused relatives and friends to have hope that she might recover. It was said that Mrs. Jackson never before had been seriously ill.
Dr. and Mrs. Jackson had lived in Muncie 45 years, coming here from Mt. Summit in 1889. She was born in Mt. Summit, the daughter of E. Trammel and Rebecca Ice, widely-known residents of that community and later of Muncie. She was married to Dr. Jackson May 16, 1884, and last year they celebrated their golden wedding. Scores of friends called at the Jackson home to greet them on that occasion.
Surviving relatives include the husband; daughters, Mrs. Ray W. Clark and Miss Lola Jackson, both of Muncie; a sister, Mrs. James A. Harvey, Muncie; brothers, Joseph P. and George A. Ice, both of Mt. Summit, and Harry H. Ice, of New York City, formerly a Muncie druggist, and the grandsons, Frank and Robert Clark.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Friday in the First Baptist Church, of which Mrs. Jackson was a member, in the charge of the Reverend Hillyer Straton, the pastor, and the Reverend Arthur W. McDavitt, of St. John's Universalist Church. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery. Friends are invited to call at the Jackson residence in the meantime. The body was removed from Meeks Mortuary to the home, Thursday noon.
