Laura Belle Faucett

Laura Belle (McMichael) Faucett – a Pendleton resident, passed away on Monday, March 14, 2011, at St. Anthony Hospital. She was 84 years old.

Viewing will be held between the hours of 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM on Thursday, March 17, 2011 at Burns Mortuary in Pendleton. A Graveside Funeral Service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 18, 2011 at Skyview Memorial Park in Pendleton.

Burns Mortuary of Pendleton is in charge of arrangements.

Laura was born March 21, 1926, in Maywood, Nebraska, to Ray and Katherine (Force) Wolgamott. She had nine siblings. She was raised in Curtis, Nebraska, where she attended Curtis public school. She graduated from Nebraska School of Agriculture in Curtis, NE, in 1946. Laura came to Oregon in 1947. She lived for a time in Ordnance, Oregon, and then Hermiston, Oregon. Laura had provided childcare for many years. She had been employed as a kindergarten teacher at a private school in Hermiston for 7 years, and she also had worked at Lamb-Weston from 1972 until 1976.

On May 23, 1976, she married William Peter Faucett in Pendleton. The couple moved to Pendleton in 1979, where they raised their family. Laura had been a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles for many years, as well as the American Legion. She was an avid gardener, and also loved crafts. Above all, Laura loved children.

Laura Faucett is survived by her husband of 35 years Bill Faucett, at the home in Pendleton, children: Larry & Julie McMichael, Terry & Therese McMichael, and Sandy Spicher, step-children: Lee Roy Faucett, Stella Yarbrough and Anna Sellers, 17 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, numerous great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, her parents and all 9 of her siblings.
