Katherine was one of 18 Henigin children (13 who survived childhood). As a young woman, she was known to drive the farm truck to South Side to sell vegetables, and became an excellent chocolatier. She baked bread and made candies for family and friends long after her eye sight had failed. Family unanimously agree that she was a strong character and very much the glue of the family after her parents' passing. She attended mass on a daily basis and set the alter prior to the service. Katherine never married.
