Carl S. Baptiste, 63, of 541 Olomana St., Kailua, a retired land appraiser for the State Tax Office, died Saturday in Kaiser Hospital.
Friends may call at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary from 6-9 pm tomorrow and from 8-9:30 am Wednesday.
The rosary will be said at the mortuary at 7:30 pm tomorrow. Requiem mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Kailua, at 10 am Wed. Burial will follow at Hawaiian Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family requests that flowers be omitted.
Mr. Baptiste was a member of the Hawaii National Guard for 37 years and was a retired bandmaster of the 11th Army band.
He was president of the United Portuguese Clubs of Hawaii, past president of the Hawaii Pioneer Civic Association, and a past potentate of the Order of Redmen.
Survivors are his wife, Angeline; two daughters, Mrs. Lawrence (Millicent) Borges and Mrs. Robert (Carol) Cote in MA; a son, Wilmer C., seven grandchildren, one great grandson, and four brothers, Louis, William, Alfred and Paul, all in CA.
