He married Emily J. Collins and they had six children.
In 1880 the family was residing in Greensburgh, Westmoreland, PA, where L.M. was a dealer in fanning mills. He and Emily had two sons, Bertrand age 4, and Donald age 2.
In 1900 they were living at the family home in Gregory with Bertrand, Rose, and Bernice. Emily was the mother of six children, and six were living.
In 1910 L.M. was boarding at a house in Detroit, 65 miles from home, and working as a laborer in an auto factory, while Emily (now the mother of six, with four living), Rose, and Bernice are maintaining their farm in Gregory. L.M. came home on weekends when possible, and on his vacations.
In 1920 Emily is at their home, and Lemech is still working in the auto factory in Detroit, age 71. What an industrious man he must have been.
He worked in Detroit right up to the time of his death in May 1926. He was very ill for about two weeks before he died. His funeral was held at the family home. I found no obituary in the Pinckney Dispatch newspaper.
Son Bertrand died in 1901, and Donald in 1909. The other two children who do not appear in the censuses were Genevieve (Mrs. George Fenn) born 1881 in PA, and John Wellington Harris born 27 Sep 1884 in MI. In 1925 "Jennie" and family were living in Detroit, and John and his family in the suburb of Dearborn.
