Linette Sue Small, 79, of Horton, Kansas passed away on Monday, March 14, 2011 at the Horton Community Hospital.

She was born on February 6, 1932 in Kansas City, Kansas the daughter of Nelson and Irene Shrader Miller.

Linette graduated from ACCHS in Effingham in 1950, Highland Community College and Peru State College in Nebraska. She was a homemaker and a school teacher. Linette was a member of the Horton First Christian Church where she served as the first woman elder and taught Sunday school for over fifty years. She was also a member of the Christian Women's Fellowship, Brush Creek 4-H Club, Clear Creek 4-H Club, Huron 4-H Club and was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

On June 3, 1956 she married Charles Henry Small at the Huron Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Sandra & husband Lynn Wahl of Wamego, Kansas; three sons, Dale & wife Wanda Small of Muscotah, Kansas, Lee & wife Judy Small of Shawnee, Kansas and Mark & wife Christina Strom of Manhattan, Kansas; two brothers, Leonard Miller of Robertsdale, Alabama and Donald Miller of Stafford, Kansas; fourteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Charles on December 12, 1984 and a son, Russell Alan Small.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2011 at the First Christian Church in Horton, Kansas with burial at the Muscotah Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Friday evening from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton.
