OBITUARY- The Clarion-Ledger, 8 Jun 2005
Curtis Leon Bailey, 76, died Tuesday, June 7, 2005, at his residence in Brandon. Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. today at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with burial in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.
Mr. Bailey was a native of Bruce, MS and had lived in Rankin County for 60 yrs. He was a member of Sardis Baptist Church in Calhoun County, MS. Mr. Bailey retired from MS Valley Gas Co. after 43 years of service. He was a Mason and a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, farmer and sports fan.
Survivors are his Wife, Eddie Merle Bailey of Brandon; sons, Gerald W. Palmer and wife, Carolyn, Curtis W. Bailey and wife, Lynn, and Waymon D. Bailey and wife, Kay, all of Brandon; step-son, Jerry W. Gibbons and wife, Gina, of Raymond; daughter, Pamela Nail and husband, Chris of Brandon; sisters, Katy Tegerson of Oklahoma City, OK and Ilene Chance of Southhaven, MS; grandchildren, Shawn, Sara and Justin Palmer, Caleb, Emily and Molly Nail, Chance, Jacob and Cody Bailey.
(He was born 15 May 1929 in Calhoun County, MS, the son of William Arthur Bailey and Lela Alice "Jannie" Kimbrell Bailey).
