OBITUARY-THE SEWARD INDEPENDENT
MAY 15, 1946

Frederick Robert Mason was born May 27th, 1927, at Seward, Nebr., where all his days were lived. He departed this life May 7th, 1946, lacking just 20 days of attaining unto his 19th birthday. His education was received at the Seward public schools, from which he graduated just a year ago. Last autumn he entered the University of Nebraska to take up the study of art, the field in which he was talented. Like most boys he was interested in sports too, and he made it a point to see all the home-town games.
Also in May, eight years ago, Frederick was received into the fellowship of the Methodist church by his public confession of Christ as Lord and Savior.
He leaves to mourn his departure from this life, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Mason, his grandmother, Mrs. Andrew Wickenkamp, a brother, Walter of Gresham and two sisters, Genevieve and Elizabeth, both of Lincoln. An infant brother, Robert, preceded him in death. Besides these there is a multitude of relatives, friends and neighbors who shall miss him greatly.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist church at 2:30 Friday, conducted by Rev. D. E. Springer, assisted by Rev. S. H. Jones. Pallbearers were Wayne Hoffschneider, Dick Anderson, Ken Wergin, Connie Langner, Wayne Wickenkamp and Don Davis.
