May 11, 1964 The Gettysburg Times C.E. WEDDLE PASSES AWAY

Charles E. Weddle, 78, 414 E. Railroad St., a retired Western Maryland railroad employe died this morning at 10:22 o'clock at the Warner Hospital from a complication of diseases. He had been in the hospital since February 28.

Mr. Weddle was a native of Frederick County, Md., and a son of the late Charles Wesley and Sadie (Wilhide) Weddle. He had lived in Gettysburg for the last 45 years. He had worked for many years as a section foreman for the Western Maryland, retiring at the age of 65.

His wife, Maude Brice, died seven years ago.

Surviving are these children: Mrs. Arthur C. Renner, at home; Mrs. James Fogle, Gettysburg, Mrs. John S. Funt, Gettysburg R. 6; and a grandson, David Funt. There are these brothers and sisters: John Philip Weddle and Libert S., both of Thurmont; Mrs. Sadie Miller, Catoctin Furnace, Md., and Mrs. John Burkholder, Garrett, Pa.

Funeral services at the Bender Funeral Home Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock with the Rev. John Bishop, associate pastor of St. James Lutheran Church, officiating. Interment will be in the Blue Ridge Cemetery, Thurmont. Friends may call Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 o'clock at the funeral home.
