Charles A. Marriott

Charles Arthur Marriott, 75, of 1208 Porter, building custodian for Ogden city schools for 40 years, died Thursday at nine-thirty a.m. at the home of a son, Orion C. Marriott, in Millbrae, Calif., following a short illness, according to word received here.
Mr. and Mrs. Marriott, in company whith their son, Orion, had been on a trip to the northwest and were visiting with him prior to returning to Ogden, when Mr. Marriott died.
Mr. marriott was born May 6,1870, in Ogden, a son of John and Trezer Southwick Marriott. He was educated in Ogden city schools and resided here all his life. On March 28, 1894, he married Mary A. Farley in the L.D.S. Salt Lake Temple. At the time of his death he was a Seventy in the L.D.S. Seventh ward, Ben Lomond Stake.
After two decades in the employ of the city schools, he retired last July.
Surviving are his widow, an dthe following son and daughters: Mr. Marriott, Millbrae; Mrs. Vern Harrop and ida Marriott, Ogden; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. Ida M. Creamer, Mrs. Belle Ellsworth and Mrs. James Morris, Ogden; Mrs. Carrie Hewitt and Mrs. John Morris, Marriott.
The body is at the mortuary, 2351 Jefferson.
