Jonah Wilson
Mr. Jonah Wilson, 83, of Route 2, Whitney died Friday, August 25, in a Dallas hospital. Survices were Sunday, August 27, at 3 p.m. in Marshall and Marshall Funeral Chapel in Whitney, the Rev. Bill Sumrall officiating. Burial was in Bethlehem Cemetery near Whitney. Mr. Wilson was born September 9, 1894, in Alabama. He moved the Culp community in Hill as a boy and lived most of his life. He was a member of Whitney Missionay Baptist Church and served in the Army during World War I. A daughter, Miss Leona Wilson, died in 1941. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lear Wilson of Hillsboro; two daughters, Mrs. Kathryne Royal of Launa Park and Mrs. Billie Hinckley of Fort Worth; two sons, John Wilson of Fort Worth and Jim Wilson of Red Oak; a sister, Mrs. Malzie Dye of Plainview; 11 children and five great grandchildren.
