Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on August 16, 2016, at Zion Baptist Church in Pontotoc, MS, with a graveside service at 1:00 p.m. on August 17, 2016, at Sardis Baptist Church cemetery in Hazlehurst, MS, with Rev. Grant McElveen officiating.
She was a native of Hazlehurst, MS. She was manager of the Morgan & Lindsey store in Hazlehurst and G.C. Murphy Co. in Brookhaven, where she retired. She was a member of Palmetto Baptist Church, Verona, MS.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Charlie Fred Armstrong, Sr.; a grandson, Gary Neal Armstrong; a great grandson, Austin Armstrong; her parents, Will and Ollie White, and a brother, R. W. White.
Survivors include her sons, Gary Nelson Armstrong (Sue) of Utica, MS; Robert Earl Armstrong (Violet) of Pontotoc, MS; and Charlie Fred Armstrong, Jr. (Martha) of Wylie, TX; one brother, Boyd White of Collins, MS; seven grandchildren, four step grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, five step great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
