Lee (Leora) Thesing, 84, of Brainerd passed on to her heavenly home Thursday, April 15, 2010, at St. Joseph's Center in Brainerd, Minn. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, April 21 at 1 p.m. at St. Francis Church. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 20 at Nelson-Doran Funeral home in Brainerd from 4-8 p.m. and one hour prior to Mass on April 21. At the time of her death she was lovingly surrounded by her children and grandchildren.
Lee was born June 18, 1925, in Belle Prairie to David and Julia (Bellefeuille) Houle. She married Ambrose Thesing Jan. 12, 1943, in Belle Prairie. They lived on the Houle farmstead until they moved to Brainerd in 1947.
Lee so cherished the time she spent with her family and friends. Some of her favorite times were enjoyed up at their lake home with her family and spending holidays together. Lee thoroughly enjoyed playing cards. She was active in a 500 Card Club and numerous bridge groups. Lee enjoyed working in her yard and tending to her flower gardens. Lee was a member of St. Francis Church for over 58 years and was president of the St. Francis Women Guild and a member of the St. Joan of Arc guild group. Lee also worked at Montgomery Ward as a department manager for many years.
Lee will be so missed by her children, Dean (Donna) Thesing, Judy (Don) Brambrink, Keith (Kari) Thesing and Ruth Ann (Bob) Hanson; 17 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; sisters, Ellidore Thesing and Mary Lou Thesing; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death on April 23, 2009, by her loving husband of 67 years Ambrose Thesing; granddaughters, Amber Lee and Lynn Rae; brothers, Orville Houle, Lloyd Houle, Conrad Houle, Darold Houle; and sister, Lorene Grennier.
