George Miller, 77, retired farmer of the Sims-Wayne City area, died at Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon, IL.
He entered the hospital only three hours before his death, after suffering a stroke. Mr. Miller had been a patient at the Hickory Grove Manor Nursing Home in Mt. Vernon for some time.
Mr. Miller was born in Wayne county, the son of George and Mary Miller. He was married to Edith Hurst, who preceded him in death.
Surviving are a son, Dwight; a daughter, Dorothy Horton; a brother, Lewis Miller; a sister, --- Liva Loos; five grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted from the Richardson Chapel in Wayne City with interment in Hopewell Cemetery north of Wayne City.
