Clinton Roger "C.R." Cabe, 87, of C. R. Cabe Road, Franklin, died Monday, March 10, 2003, in a local nursing home. He was a native of Macon County, a son of the late Charles Clinton and Mary Ellen Dowdle Cabe. He was married to Buena Vista Cabe, who passed away in December 2002. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II, and a member of Clarks Chapel United Methodist Church. He retired in 1979 from the Department of Transportation, where he worked as a motor grader operator and a section foreman. He was a member of the Franklin VFW Post 7339.
He is survived by three daughters, Roseanne Bradley and her husband, George, of Franklin, Sue Hunder and her husband, Frank, of Franklin, and Gail Shope and her husband, Keith, of Franklin; a son, James Cabe and his wife, Betty, of Franklin, and a stepson, Edwin Hall and his wife, Louise, of Franklin; one sister, Sadie Ammons of Franklin; four grandchildren, Warren Cabe and his wife, Diana, Jeffrey Bradley, Sharon Oliver and her husband, Jerry, Tammy Costello and her husband, Tim; and one great-grandson. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Lester and Jake Cabe.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 12, at Clarks Chapel United Methodist Church. Rev. Al Beck officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Jerry Sutton, Joe Doster, Mike Vanhook, Thomas Ammons, Steve Cabe and Chuck Sutton. The Franklin VFW Post 7339 and American Legion Post 108 conducted military graveside rites.
