Mr. Reichert owned and operated Reichert Outdoor Power. His late father, Jake, had also worked at the family business.
In addition to his business, Mr. Reichert worked as a firefighter and emergency medical technician specialist with the Owosso Fire Department and was a crew chief with the Michigan National Guard and its Huey Helicopter Division in Grand Ledge.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Jennings-Lyons Chapel with Pastor Mark St. Louis officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Visitation at the funeral home will be today from 5-9 p.m. and Monday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m.
Mr. Reichert was born Oct. 19, 1949 in Owosso, the son of Jacob and Maxine (Buckley) Reichert. He resided all of his life in Owosso.
On Nov. 3, 1990 he and Sherry J. Bushard were married in Owosso.
He was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association and the I.A.F.F. Local 504.
Survivors include: His wife, Sherry, of Owosso; a son, Kirk (Cathy) Reichert of Owosso; grandchildren, Alicia and Cameron; sister, Carole (Don) Hammond of Owosso; brother, Bill (Gloria) Reichert of Owosso; and aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents (Jake in June 1997 and Maxine in November 1997).
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Shiawassee County Humane Society or the Shiawassee Animal Shelter."
