Altha Mitchell Harris, 93, formerly of Ridgeway, died Thursday, Sept. 21, 2006, at the Blue Ridge Rehab Center, Martinsville.
She was born in Henry County, Jan. 2, 1913, to Wade Mitchell and Anis Bouldin Mitchell. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles Monroe Harris; four brothers, Simpson J. Mitchell, William Wade Mitchell, Eddie Mitchell and Lloyd Clinton Mitchell; and a sister, Leo M. Baker.
She retired from Globman's Department Store with more than 44 years of service and she was a member of Rich Acres Christian Church.
Surviving are a sister, Gladys A. Mitchell of Ridgeway; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Roselawn Chapel Funeral Home with Minister Tim Hunt officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Burial Park.
Friends will be received at Roselawn Funeral Chapel from 6-7 p.m. today.
